Taxi

Taking a taxi is the easiest way to reach the hotels and is recommended if you don't mind the extra cost. As you exit from the terminal building, look for the supervised taxi stand. Give your destination to the dispatcher and s/he will direct you to the correct taxi. The fares from the airport are fixed, so the driver need not use a meter. You should ask for the fixed price option in advance. A taxi to Tel Aviv should cost about 110 NIS plus 3 NIS per suitcase (with up
to a 25% surcharge from Friday afternoon until Sunday morning, and every night from 21:00 until 5:30 the following morning).

Israel Railways

Follow the signs to the train station at the airport, which is located on Level S of terminal 3. Take the northbound train to the Tel Aviv Central station (also called "Tel Aviv Merkaz" or "Savidor").

Due to the Sabbath the last train on Friday leaves at 14:11, and  train operation resumes on Saturday evening at 19:35. You may want to download the schedule here.

From the Tel Aviv Central Train station you can take a short taxi ride
to the hotel, or use a public bus:

To the Basel Hotel take "Kavim" bus #55 (northbound towards Reading Terminal). The bus station is located on Al Parashat Drakhim St. near the train station exit. Ask to be dropped off at the Hilton hotel (194 Hayarkon St.). From there, walk south to the Basel Hotel, which is located a few blocks down on 156 Hayarkon St.

To the Dan Panorama Hotel take "Dan" bus #10 (southbound towards Nissenbeum Terminal). The bus station is located at the bus terminal near the central train station exit. Ask to be dropped off at Charles Clore Park across from the Dan Panorama Hotel.

Social Program

Pre-Conference Get Together Reception - October 14th, 2007, 19:00, Will take place in Hall C at the Dan Panorama Hotel. Registration will begin at 16:00.

Half-day Tour of Jerusalem - October 16th, 2007, 13:00, Will depart promptly from the Dan Panorama Hotel lobby.
Lunch boxes will be distributed on the bus. A jacket or sweater is recommended.

Silver Jubilee Gala Dinner - October 18th, 2007, 19:30 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the discovery of
quasicrystals. Will take place in the Dekel Hall at the Dan Panorama Hotel.

Transportation to and from the Basel Hotel

A special shuttle will be available for participants that are staying at the Basel Hotel.  The shuttle will leave from the lobby of the Basel Hotel to the Dan Panorama Hotel on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 18:00, and every morning at 08:00. It will return to the Basel Hotel at the end of the conference program each day. At the end of the conference tour on Tuesday there will be drop-offs at both hotels.

Registration & Hospitality Desk
The Registration & Hospitality Desk will operate to assist you with all your questions and needs throughout the meeting. Located next to the lecture hall at the Hotel Convention Center, it will be open during the following hours:

Upon registration, you will receive your personal kit containing the final program and abstract book, vouchers, and a personal name tag. You are kindly requested to wear your name tag at all times, and have your vouchers ready for all lunches and conference events.
