Specific instructions
• All manuscripts must be submitted via Manuscript Central, the Journal’s on-line site – see final section of these instructions.
• Manuscripts should be compiled in the following order: title; authors’ names and addresses; abstract; main text; acknowledgments; appendices (if appropriate); references; table(s) with caption(s); figure caption(s) (as a list); figures.
• Contact details for the corresponding author (telephone, fax, e-mail) should be provided as a footnote on the first page.
• Section headings should be concise and numbered sequentially, using a decimal system for subsections.
• Authors must adhere to SI units.  Units are not italicized, but symbols are.  Vectors are in bold face.
• References should be numbered sequentially in the text, ([1], [2-3] etc.) and should be listed in numerical order at the end of the text.
• Authors should restrict their use of color to situations where it is necessary on scientific, and not merely cosmetic, grounds.  Unless prior approval has been given, color figures will be printed in black and white but will appear in color in the on-line version.
• Please consult recent issues of Philosophical Magazine to see the overall style of published articles.

File formats
Contributions can be submitted in Microsoft Word or LaTeX.
To download a Word template for this journal, click here and choose the ‘Save’ option. Save ‘eiasstylea.dot’ to your hard drive and open it for use by clicking on the icon in Windows Explorer, not by opening the file from within Word.
To download a LaTeX style guide and class file, click here.
If a LaTeX file is submitted then it must be accompanied by a PDF because Manuscript Central is unable to convert LaTeX files into PDFs directly.
